Annual Roosevelt Engine Co. #2 Fishing Derby Returns to Poughkeepsie

The Roosevelt Engine Co. #2 is inviting families to cast a line and join the fun at their Annual Fishing Derby, taking place on Saturday, June 21st at Greenfields Park, located at 179 Cream Street in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Free Registration for Children 12 and Under

This popular event is free and open to children ages 12 and under. Registration begins at 11:45 AM, and fishing will run from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Bring your own pole and enjoy two hours of fishing excitement in the heart of the Hudson Valley.

Prizes for the Biggest, Longest, and Heaviest Fish

Young anglers will compete for prizes in several categories, including the biggest, longest, and heaviest fish. Local businesses are generously donating the prizes, and all sponsors will be featured on a community banner at the event.

DEC Participation and Family-Friendly Activities

Representatives from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will be on-site, offering support and educational opportunities for families. It’s a great way for kids to learn about nature and responsible fishing while having a blast.

Free Refreshments, Raffle, and T-Shirts

In addition to the fishing fun, the day will include free refreshments, a 50/50 raffle, and T-shirts for sale—with proceeds going to support Roosevelt Engine Co. #2 and their continued service to the community.
