2023 Rockland Sports Show Canceled, Not Returning To Venue
The 2023 World Fishing and Outdoor Exposition which was set to take place at the Rockland Community College Fieldhouse, has once again, been canceled and it will not be returning to the college moving forward.
A statement on the website for the event reads:
We have enjoyed our 4 plus decades bringing the area’s hunters and anglers a show that has been shared through multiple generations. Restrictions on certain exhibitor categories allowed at the college over the past 10-15 years have resulted in a much more limited show. Covid further impacted our ability to deliver a quality show at RCC delaying our restart. As this chapter closes a new one opens. Beginning in 2024 (January), the World Fishing & Outdoor Expo will be relocated to Edison NJ 1 hour south. This move allows us to fully welcome hunting and firearm displays back into the show, delivers abundant free parking, with a supportive and larger venue that will allow us to deliver the highest quality fishing, hunting, and outdoor show in the New York Metro market. We thank you for all the great memories and will miss Suffern but are excited for the future.
The World Fishing and Outdoor Exposition, known to many regulars as just the “Rockland Show” or “Rockland Sports Show” has not taken place since March of 2020. The World Fishing & Outdoor Exposition (WFOE) is a large trade show that focuses on the fishing and outdoor recreation industries. At the expo, attendees can expect to find a wide range of products and services related to fishing, boating, camping, hunting, and other outdoor activities. The event typically features exhibits from manufacturers and retailers of fishing and outdoor equipment, as well as demonstrations and seminars on various aspects of outdoor sports.
The show has been a staple in the Outdoor Community for many years and the relocation will make it difficult for some in the Hudson Valley to attend. Hopefully, the new location will bring much success to the show.
