Ice Breaking the Hudson River
Over the past couple of winters, temperatures have been rather warm which makes ice development on the Hudson River a hit or miss scenario. But last year with the extended bitter cold, the Hudson River frequently iced over. With the Hudson River being a major pathway for transportation of oil, gas, and other seasonal needs, the Coast Guard has to break through the ice to keep the shipping channels free.
