Are You the King of the Ice? Sullivan County’s Ultimate Ice Fishing Contest

Update: The 2024 event set for 2/18/24 has been cancelled. A statement on the event website reads

We regret to inform everyone that this year’s event is being canceled due to safety concerns. While present ice conditions are marginal but adequate, we feel that the forecast of spring-like days and predicted rains will deteriorate the ice levels – certainly making it potentially unsafe for the 400+ people who join us each year. We hope to see you on the ice next year.

For over three decades, the Sullivan County Conservation Club has been hosting the region’s most anticipated ice fishing contest – the King of the Ice! This annual event brings together fishing enthusiasts, families, and the local community for a day filled with excitement, camaraderie, and the thrill of the icy catch. From cash prizes to trophies and youth awards, the King of the Ice has become a cherished tradition at White Lake and Kauneonga Lake.
